Here's to a new year...

I actually made some effort for my blog this morning. I made the effort to find a topp/dress I made years ago, put it on and take photos. Thought it would be nice since I'm not finishing any projects at the moment, but my mobile decided not to behave and now the photos are all gone... I'm just slightly upset with it... I guess it'll have to redo it, not today tho.
Instead I changed the looks of my blog, not sure I'm too pleased with it but I'll do for now and until the next time I haven't got much to do and feel like putting some further effort in to my blog...
I think this will be my last post 2010. Maybe a new years promise to put some effort into blogging would be a good idea...

During ongoing production

I'm working on at least four different projects at the moment. A scarf that's meant to be a christmas present but won't be finished in time, bought the yarn in France and ended up not having enough but found a site yesterday where I could order more. Probably will take quite some time before I get it since I'm ordering it from England and there's a bit of snow over there...

Also working on another scarf, started it today so haven't got very far. It's probably going to be a late christmas present/ birthday gift if I don't like it to much and want to keep it myself :D

The third project is candle holders, 2 made 6 to go...

No4 is the grandma' square blanket, constantly ongoing but not enough made to put up another picture...

Instead I'll show you something I made quite a few years ago. It used to be a longsleaved t-shirt I loved but never used anymore and this is what I made out of it...

Gloves

After nearly freezing my fingers of in Paris wearing my mittens, I decided to buy wool and make a propper pair of gloves. Found a nice black wool with a bit of silver in it and bought at the same time a hook size 5.0.

Used the thread dubble to make it extra thick and ended up not having enough for the last thumb. So I undid the pretty much finshed gloves, shortened the part around the wirsts and remade them.

I love them! They're really warm and they look good too!

NIce and warm

The second thing I "had" to do was a warm scarf. Bought the wool fairly cheap in a chilly Switzerland, then went to warmer southern France where I sat outside in the sun knitting it. Some times I felt like a bikini would be more useful...

I started of with 10plain rows, then plain&pearls (not sure how many) and then starting over again. Thread the pearls on the wool and attached when ut suited me. In the end I sewed the two ends together to make it into a circel.

Don't let travelling stop you

I've been out travelling for a little over 2 months now, visiting France, Switzerland and England but now I'm back since a few days. But being away doesn't have to mean no time for creativity. I've managed to create several things and I started of with mittens. I improvised and restarted a number of times before I was happy with them.

Forever and ever

I've started on a project that probably doesn't have an ending. A blanket of small granny squares using mums old yarn. From now on I can't say I've nothing to do....

Knit vs. crochet

Spent last week remaking a scarf; it took me about a year to knit a scarf with this yarn. It got heavy and I got unmotivated and when I finally got around to finish it, it turned out really really awefull! I almost just put it away to forget but then I found an amazing pattern at ravelry so I undid the knitted scarf and made it into a crochet one. Much much nicer!

So from being something I'd never use to something I'm going to wear a lot..!

Ugly but oh so cute

Found this adorable pattern the other day and had to get started immediatelly. It's quite ugly but still so very cute!

Got a flat tyre on my car yesterday, dad had to come get me. We brought both the flat tyre and the extra one back home (no air in any of them...) and when he filled them up there was nothing wrong with the flat one. It's the tyre valve that's the problem, if you bend it in one direction it leaks... So I must have been really unlucky..!

Pacman

Done a bit more crocheting. This time a Pacman ghost, it's more cute than scary but still...

Socks

My crochet socks are now finished. They're not as comfy as I thought they would be and I'm not too pleased with the result at all but as mum said "at least you've learnt something". I love the colour and the buttons though.

Got a few other projects I need to finish and a few other I'd much rather start with...

At last

Finished the trousers I've been making for Axel like half an hour ago. Took me a while due to lack of motivation, being unlucky while thinking and the sewing-machine needle breaking. The last reason really made me lose all the patient I didn't have, that was two weeks ago... But now they're finally finished and hopefully I won't have to make any adjustments...

Owl

I started on a pair of crochet socks last week, didn't go that well so while I was waiting for mum to come home and help me I started on a little owl-container. It's so very cute! Not sure what I'm going to fill it with since it is quite small but I'm sure I'll come up with something!
About the socks; I haven't made that much progress. The pattern is a bit too cryptic for me which means I need mum's help quite a lot...
Now I'm of to my grandparentes' holiday-house. Going to see if we can find some chanterells...

It's true, I've made another cellphone-cozy. A crochet one this time, it was just a test to see how good I've got at crocheting to start with but it turned out really nice so now I've got four... I'm not too pleased with the colours but it's at the moment my favourite cozy.

Voodoo

I found a pattern for a crochet voodoo-pincushion a few weeks back. Thought it was really cool so I had to try making it and it turned out very cute!

As I said yesterday I've made something else but the robots this week. I've made myself another cellphone-case.

I've been getting a bit tired of my green one (in the middle) lately and the flowery one (left) I use when I'm in the stable so it smells a little :D and last week when I visited the secondhand store I found a really cool tartan tie.

The finished case is the third one I tried making with this tie. The first one got way too small, the second about 2cm too short and the third - perfect! I didn't do too well when thinking that day, but third time lucky... :D

When I bought the tie I thought it was just a tartan tie but it's actually made in Scotland... I used red lining, half of it from the lining of this tie and the other half from another tie. I think it became quite cool!

Robots

I've finished another thing to, but I'll show you that sometime during this week...

I've stopped working for this summer and should have all the time in the world but I've been busy doing different things. For example I've been in a galopp race with my horse, playing ten pin bowling with my dad and been on a shoppingtrip with a friend.

Now I'm off to spend some time with my horse and do some painting...

Shorts

It's been a while, again... I've finished the shorts I was talking about last time and now managed to take a photo so I can show you. It's actually just a pair of trousers that I've cut off and handstitched sequins on the fold-ups. Pretty cool I'd say!

I've been sick for about a week now, I've got crochingfever - I started last friday making a mini-robot and since then I've made one more and started on another. I'll put up a picture as soon as I've finish the one I'm working on and taken a photo ;)

I've got a few other projects in my mind so I might actually update my blog a bit more often from now on...

Hot hot hot

It's been really hot the last couple of weeks, it's nice but takes away all my energy. But it made me cut of a pair of trousers to make shorts. They're not quite finished so I'll put up a picture of them another day.

When I was working on the cubes for Axel (they are now finished but still not given away) I made another pair for myself to hang in the rearview mirror of my car. I love them! They make me happy everytime I get into my car...

Finally summer

I've finished school for this term, moved back to my parents, started my summerjob and done no sewing what so ever. The last part isn't entirely true, I've handstitched some of the cubes together but to me that doesn't really count.

I'm all out of ideas at the moment, got a few fabrics I want to use but not sure what to sew of them. Axel's parentes asked me if I could make a kind of bib-and-brace overalls for Axel the other day as there are none to buy. (Axel's 13months...) So that will brobably be my next project, I have to make the pattern myself tho och drawing is not really my strongest side... But if drawing doesn't work out, I just do as I normally would; cut, pin, sew.

At the moment there's mostly one thing that's taking up my time when I'm not working; that's the idiot in the picture... :)

Finally

I've finally managed to make all the cubes! Just got the last part left - handstitch the openings toghether... It's probably going to take some time but at least I can see the end of the project..!

Long time not much sewing

It's been a while again. I've got some more cubes sewn but today when I was planning to finish the last ones, the needle on the sewing-machine broke and fell into the machine. So at the moment I'm not sure what to do; not sure if I've got another needle either.

It sucks a bit cause I wanted to finish that project so I can move on to someother ones I got in my mind... Well well.

I've sewn another bag tho, in the same fabric as the other ones... It's quite nice if I get to have an opinion!

AX

Haven't been much sewing lately, haven't really been much of anything. Lost most of my motivation for doing whatever comes up. But I'm working on finding it and I've nearly finished both A and X. Tho the birthdaysparty already taken place, I'll just have to give it another time...

Getting somewhere

As I've said before, this week was going to be about studying and my birtdayproject. Well to be fair, I've actually done a little of both but most of all - a little of everything else... My motivation hasn't really been around and sadly it still isn't and my test is tomorrow... We'll see how that goes...

So about my project; the cubes are going to for the letters in the name 'AXEL' and have started with A and made 6 out of 10 cubes. I dont have anything to fill them with at the moment tho so it looks a bit silly.

I've got 2 other project ideas; one is an iphone case for my friends phone and another bag to my "collection".

Lovely weekend

I went to my parentes for the weekend. Started of by driving to my horse to go for a ride on friday. Spent saturday studying, sunbathing and visiting my grandma. Sunday I went to my horse again and had a fab day!

I also had time to buy some ties for my project, looking at them you can never understand how anyone could have worn them as ties but they will fit my project very well! I buy them really cheap at a red cross second hand store.

So this week will be all about studying grammar for my exam next monday and cutting squares...

Next project

It's my friends sons first birthday in a month and my next project is a birthdaygift for him. Not sure if I'm going to have neither time nor enough fabric to complete it till then tho.

What I'm going to do is make cubes and use them to form the letters in his name. I'm going to attach them using Velcro. That way he can take them apart and build other things or just move them around between the letters.

The fabric I'm using is the same fabric as I make the cellphone cases from. It's kind of my favourite; the fabric from ties. It's quite hard to work with but I love it anyway...

I've started of making the cubes, or well at least cutting the squares to make the cubes... Only to make the first letter which is A it will take 10cubes and 60squares. At the moment I've got 48 or something like that...

What else is there to do?

To complete my "collection" made of the same fabric (and to solve the problem of having nothing to do) I made a new cellphone case for my phone. Not sure if there is something else I can sew to make the collection even more complete?

I'm starting to get good at making cellphone cases now, so if someone who's reading this is interested in having one; let me know!

I've got a new project to, I'll tell you more about it later...

Good week

This week has been a good week! Found out today that I've pass the exam I did last monday, so I'm more than happy! Another good thing about this week is that the sun has been shining almost constantly and yesterday we celebrated this with a night outside BBQ-ing and drinking beer. Good times!
Haven't done any sewing tho, not sure what my next project is going to be either. But I'm on to it and hopefully I will have something new to show you soon. Otherwise I'll put up pictures of some old projects...

Better

Today is monday, which means I've had my exam and it actually feels like I'm going to pass it!

I've also finished my clutchbag and it turned out pretty good! After having a lot of constructional difficulties and a lot of swearing I'm very pleased with it!

And also; the sun has been shining for 3days now and I've started to get a tan! Happy days!

Everything but...

It's been a week now and I've pretty much done nothing at all since then. I came back to my appartment monday night to be here and study for an exam on monday. But I've been totally unmotivated so at the moment I'm not sure if I'm going to pass or not...
I've done a little bit of sewing tho, not much but a little. Made another cellphone case since the one I made before was too short. Hopefully this one will fit; going to try it on next weekend...
I've also started on another bag, in the same fabric as before but a clutchbag this time. I'll show it when it's finished cause right now it's just pieces of fabric...
Time to hit the books again and see if I can learn something!

I'm happy and lucky! I was wishing for a sewing-machine for my birthday and I got a brand new one! I thought I was going to get a second hand one but no, a BRAND NEW one!
I've already had time sew a bag with it and I will put up pictures of i tomorrow...

Madness

It's been a few busy days now, with my birthday and celebrations of that and school and shopping... Haven't had time for any creativity.
The picture shows some of the things I've got for my birthday. Mostly stuff for making muffins which I do quite a lot so it's fair enough...
Looking forward to next week; I'm going home to my parentes which means I'm going to have access to a sewing-machine. I've got 2 sewing-projects for the week I'm going to be there for - a clutchbag and a kind of schoolbag. Got a really nice fabric for them...

Sharing

There must be something in the air, my inspiration is increasing - can it be that spring is just around the corner?

My cellphone case I made the other week, it's constructed a bit poorly (who can complain considering a made it at 10pm the day after a night out...) but it fits perfectly + I love the fabrics...

Also my latest inspiration, 4 stones from the equal amount of dates. Not sure what to do with them yet but I'm sure it will come to me...

A start

I have to start somewhere and I guess this is it... As I don't have a sewing-machine yet (hopefully I'll get one for my birthday) I probably wont be creating much at the moment, but I might share some old designs with you my non existing readers.
